Annick - 51 weeks, Luca - 35 months

Annick - nearly one whole year old!
- nodding and saying 'yeah'
- maybe even saying 'bain'!
- lots of animal sounds, especially 'woof woof'
- another cold with the change in the weather
- walking along on her own behind a little pushcar
- pointy pointy point
- lots and lots of '...MWAH!' kisses.

Luca
- all clear from the speech pathologist on his language skills: good talking and listening Luca!
- sadly caught Annick's cold
- having almost coherent conversations with mama over the phone
   Mama: Hello?
   Luca: (silence)
   Mama: Hello?
Luca: I has a measuring tape!
Mama: Wow, that's nice!  What are you measuring?
   Luca: I measuring... tape.
Mama: Erm... OK.  Are you measuring anything else?
   (muffled prompting in background)
   Luca: ...I measuring table
Mama: How long is the table?
   Luca: Four... two... seven... kilos!
- favourite toys at the moment: duplo (still), aeroplanes, boxes he can put stuff in
- whenever someone laughs, demands to know "what is funny mama?  WHAT IS FUNNY?"
- knows his birthday is coming and is in denial that Annick's comes first

Also this fortnight, mama returns to work :(

Annick walking with her little car!

Annick feeding herself.

Annick pointing up a storm!

Annick nodding - some practise required here.

Meanwhile, Luca is still all about the duplo.  When asked what he would like for his birthday, he says, "more duplo.  And a kitchen for cooking."

Fingers and papa are both still very important.

Annick has discovered vegemite.

Luca still loves his babycino.

Mama getting the cuddles in before she has to go back to work.

Luca messing around like the cheeky monkey he is.

Ball!

Annick is also very interested in shoes and tries to put mama's, papa's and Luca's on whenever she has the chance.  So mama took out her very own Nonno Shoes and they fit!

Annick's birthday cake!  Mama might have forgotten to take photos at her special early birthday party, but at least you now know what the cake looked like.  Guess which bit Luca helped with!

Pre-birthday party kisses from papa.

Yummy birthday card from Terry koo and Uncle Kevin.

Sometimes Annick sucks duplo Lady's head and reads books.

Both Annick and Luca LOVE looking at themselves all distorted and bulgy while taking a bath.

Thighs of steel!

Ian and Kath get married, Luca wears a tie

The family ready to go.

The Godfather and his capo.

Kath walking down the aisle with her mum.

The wedding was in the Barn at Yering Station.

 Two nicely turned out gentlemen.

The boys!

The wedding party on the move.

Frere et soeur - wedding edition.

Making new friends with Siobhan.

The best man making a really amazing speech.

The awesome MC and his lady wife.

Completing their tax returns during a lull in the proceedings.

Heartfelt words from the groom.

And beautiful bride.

A thumbprint tree of all the guests - we're on the left hand side (Annick's 'leaf' is very small!)

Annick said...

'bain'

At least, we are pretty sure she was trying to say 'bain'.  She had a go at 'bath' too.

Luca's first word (for sures) was 'bas', so clearly they have both plumped for words that sound like something they can already say, but are delighted to find actually means something.

- loves drawing with crayons
- makes all the cat and dog noises in Hairy Maclary while we read

Mmmmmmmm... corn.

Hello Ah Kong!

Annick is 'helping'.

Annick's favourite part of the house, the bottom kitchen drawer.

Why yes, probably.

Mama does some sewing - a dress for Ee Hui & Kath's wedding next week and a coat for the winter.

Look at these funny people!  They need to be wearing sequinned baby cheetah t-shirts like all the best people are.

Curly slides are the best ones!

Luca and Annick LOVE Play School.

Annick - 47 weeks, Luca - 34 months

Annick:
- settling into creche really well, although bringing home household-crushing viruses

La famille

Nonna gave Luca some hearts to stick to the window and he has assigned each one to someone important.
