Annick 24 weeks, Luca 29 months

POW!

Annick:
- EATING.  LIKE A PRO.
- ROLLING.  Not so pro.  Needs to be rescued from her tummy after she rolls during her nap.
- a second dent de lait - ow.

Luca
- bla bla bla bla bla.
- all singing, all dancing!
- favourite phrase: "something draw!"
- complex thinking - points at a tree that looks like a hand and says, "looks like a hand!"

Annick eats banana.

Asparagus.

Pumpkin.

Strawberries.
Wine... erm... wait a minute.

Luca keeps papa's balcony clean.
Annick might need a haircut.

Good standing!

Luca says, "ready... cheddar... go!"

Why hello there pretty lady!

Luca's recipe for baba ghanoush - after roasting your aubergine and scooping out the innards, chop it up and make a garlic paste to add to it.

Squeeze in some lemon, add some parsley, tahini and yoghurt.  Taste.

Season and enjoy!

Cutie patootie.

We have a picnic!

Merci Nonna pour mon beau t-shirt!

Thanks Lauren and Angus for the awesome exersaucer!

It's delicious!

Annick and papa enjoy the swing.

Annick and mama enjoy the Botanic Gardens.

The family resemblance is astonishing.

- is all about the trucks and cars - vroum vroum!
- favourite book at the moment: Stuck by Oliver Jeffers - maman pretty much knows it off by heart now and may need to hide it or burn it.

Luca goes to the beach!

Food!

It might seem we only have photos of the kids, but we still do a lot of eating.  Here are some photos.

Miam!  Philippa's sourdough (makes a SUBLIME bruschetta), fancy anchovies, smoked paprika, lemon, sauvignon blanc.

Tomato and mozzarella, pancetta, shiraz.

Home cured!

And Thanksgiving.  This turkey was the same size as Luca when he was born.

Jason and his favourite bird.

Turkey stuffed with wild rice and sausage.  DELICIOUS.

Luca reads and... something else

This is a few months old, but this is Luca 'reading' one of his favourite books, A Bit Lost by Chris Haughton.  It's the first book he learned to ask for by name as well as the book that gave him one of his first words - 'uh oh'.  Or is that two words?

Whereas in this video, I have no idea what is going on.

Annick 20 weeks, Luca 28 months

Annick:
- just all smiles and giggles, what a sweetheart
- sleeping better in the day
- blowing endless raspberries - ENDLESS
- a tooth emerging!  a real one this time, not like the false alarm of a couple of months ago
- discovering her legs - surely the feet are to follow soon

Luca:
- dropping his midday sleep - boo hoo!
- getting naughty and doesn't like to do things when told
- likes to sing along to his favourite songs (baa baa black sheep, the theme song from playschool, the crazy boat song Jason made up for the bath)
- an enthusiastic hugger when he feels like it!  and lovely almost kisses
- beginning to 'lie' - he used to faithfully report when Annick was sleeping or he had a dirty nappy, but now will say 'Annick ne dors pas' or 'no caca' when in fact the opposite is true

Luca, doing what big brothers do best - sitting on their little sisters.

Annick, doing what Annick does best - grabbing people by the skin and eating their noses.

Yay!  Jason's banana tree has a new leaf and is not actually dead!

I first used a computer when I was in grade 6.  We had one Apple IIE in the school and they wheeled it around on a trolley for each class to use once a week to make crosswords and create adding programs in BASIC.  When we wanted to get really exciting, we played Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego.

Got Annick some cute hair elastics for cuteness!  Unfortunately seem to have got crazy instead.

Little green ribbon hairclip much more successful!

I really don't know what is going on here.

Happy Annick on her rug.

Is this the best belly in the whole world?

Further tummy time improvements.

Luca learns his numbers and the time and colours and shapes, ALL AT THE SAME TIME.  Thanks Aldi!

Annick's summer hat!  Mama is making one in yellow too.

Ah koo is teasing,

Ah koo is prickly!

Luca is very pleased to join in the champagne toast.

Annick, ruining pretty photos since 2012.

Luca and his traditional babycino face.

We could hear Annick in the back of the car blowing raspberries all the way to the city.  When we got there, we found her sitting, smiling, a beautiful moustache of saliva foam adorning her top lip.

Luca goes to the Royal Melbourne Show!  He never actually went on this ride, burst into tears before it even started and had to be removed.  Angus was smarter and made it abundantly clear he wasn't getting on a flying elephant in the first place.

Sleeping car Annick.

Two elephant Luca.

Cheery lapsitting Annick.

And after the jump, this fortnight a bonus collection of awkward sibling photos!
