February 2015

Things to remember for this month:

- How Annick says 'chocolatay'
- How Luca says 'hotel' like some grass-chewing hillbilly - 'ho-tay-ew'
- How we went to the aquarium and their favourite thing of all, even more than the shark tank or the giant croc, was the touching pool full of interesting things.  And when we came home we made an aquarium at home by sticking pictures of things up on the walls - one wall was the starfish tank and one wall was the shark tank and one wall was the "ray and penguin tank".  And made a touching pool with interesting items from around the house to substitute for sea things - funnels for shark eggs, scourers for sea sponges, cups for shells to hear the ocean in.
- How Luca today put the crocodile in the ray and penguin tank and when mama asked, but won't the crocodile eat the penguin? (not accounting already for it being in the same tank as a ray), Luca sighed and said, "it is not a REAL crocodile mama".
- How Annick throws her head right back and laughs and laughs and laughs and laughs and laughs when something is funny, in particular if she has just let out a particularly noisy fart.
- How when it comes time to sing 'Fait dodo Colas mon petit frere' or 'Au clair de la lune' before going to sleep, both kids join in with boisterously raucous renditions that mostly just wake you up, although they seem to go to sleep pretty well after (possibly worn out from the effort)
- How Luca has a cheesecake shot of some young male pop star on his wall because basically that was the piece of paper he used to make an 'arrow' for telling you to 'stop'.
- How Papa always has to ask "j'ai combien de mains?" when being inundated with demands from two small children, who will always then count his hands, but sometimes Annick will reply "six!"

Exploring at the aquarium!

"Can I hear the sea mama?"  During one of the endless sessions at the aquarium touching pool.

We go to Adelaide!  Here we are enjoying ourselves in the delightfully shabby arts precinct.

A Hello Kitty Cafe!

We go to the zoo - first things first, the GIRAFFES.

The open lemur enclosure made for some awkward encounters.

My little meerkats meet some meerkats.

Annick waits for someone to come out of the lift so she can press the button for the door to open and then run away when they thank her.

Penne and sauce, the only thing better is penne and pesto.

Still in the carosse, but probably reaching the weight limit by now.  I figure I will just stop feeding them in an effort to stop them growing until next year when Luca starts school.

Chinese New Year means yee sang!  Luca is ready!

Jess che che shows Annick her circus tricks.
