Annick - 10 weeks, Luca - nearly 26 months

Annick:
- sleeps at night, but daytime is for crying
- grown out of her first set of clothes boo hoo
- a vomit machine
- needs a haircut

Luca:
- whingy
- sleeping in a bed with a duvet and a pillow - wow!
- likes pushing around his stroller rather than sitting in it and being pushed

Luca has his first ever cup of tea (rooibos), and is PROUD.

Le tresorier, part deux.

"... and that's how you do the robot."

Luca and Orange Bear get some kip.

No side on the cot!  A duvet!  A pillow!

She moves fast this one - already with the head up during tummy time.

Annick et papa sont contents.

Luca gently places a muslin on Annick to keep her warm.  And to catch the vomit.

Annick works hard even when she's asleep.

Mmm... oatmeal and maple syrup!

Annick - 8 weeks, Luca - 25 months

How time does fly!

Annick:
- growing lightning fast - already stretching out her first set of clothes and into 00s (boo hoo!)
- the end of the endless pooping phase, which sadly means the beginning of saving all the poop up for a surprise daily explosion era
- smiles smiles smiles!
- sloooowly getting there with the day sleeps, but still a champion night sleeper - yay!  Her first eight hour stint last night (from 7 to 3AM, but better than nothing)

Luca:
- cheeky bugger understands French but insists on speaking English because he knows it annoys papa
- still all about the TRUCKS - categorised as follows: 'big wows' are huge freight trucks, rubbish trucks, concrete mixers and (my favourite) beer trucks; 'wows' are removalist trucks, delivery trucks, small but noisy trucks; 'no wows' are small quiet trucks not worthy of awe.
- favourite books are 'A Bit Lost' by Chris Haughton and 'Hairy McLairy and Zachary Quack' by Lyndsay Dodd in English, et 'Caca Boudin' et les Barbapapas en francais.
- un peu marabou, le petit grognon

We went to the Grampians for J's birthday weekend with Ah Ma and Ah Kong.  Here they are enjoying a walk, Luca particularly enjoying the opportunity to poke things with a stick.

Jason thinks about dinner.

Annick looks... something.

A variety of other Annick expressions:

(it's usually this one)

Luca and papa have fun at Roule Galette!

Luca makes art for papa and nonna's birthdays.

Annick is so Italian she gesticulates in her sleep.

Luca practises while awake.

Annick after a shower.

Annick thinks Ah Koo should probably just shave off the beard already.

Annick is more impressed with Ee Kiong koo (brother of Wee wee koo) than she looks.

The end of a long day!

Annick - 5.5 weeks

Annick at four five 5.5 5.8 weeks Clearly not quite keeping on top of things here...  expect future instalments of 'Annick - 16.43 weeks', 'Annick - I think she's four months', 'Annick - is she 29 already?'

This week (or more):
- at four weeks, the sad moment where she sticks her legs out of the porte-bebe instead of staying all tucked in like a foetus.
- Annick started to smile on 12 June, started to 'talk' on 13 June (one word only - "ah").
- vomiting less - yay!
- really really hard to get her to sleep during the day

Her current nicknames:
- le paquet d'amour
- Kim Jong Il (Jason does her hair North Korean dictator stylee after a shower, and says to her in a tone usually used for "coochie coochie coo", "voudrais-tu lancer un missile?")
- mémé, because she is a little old lady
- madame poopy
- lady-girl, because she is

My current favourite photo of Annick.

Or this one (she spends a fair bit of time newborn cross-eyed)

Or this one!

Pretty good at tummy time.

Luca too!

A rare daytime nap.

A beautiful outfit from Bee Kuan Ee!

Full moon food!  We could have fit her inside the pig if we wanted.

Annick's awesome full moon cake - read more about it here!

I like to think of her as the gay madonna.

Luca - 2 ans part deux

Luca is already two - holy crap.  Two-year old Luca is highly entertaining, incredibly frustrating, adorably affectionate and a bit of a pain in the behind when he wants to be.

He is also a beautiful, gentle big brother to Annick.

He talks a LOT, mostly in his own language, but uses real words when they are important (particularly involving butter).  And he is obsessed with counting.  He lives in an amazing world where the biggest number is 16, where numbers 1-6 are mostly in French and 7-16 are in English, where there is no English number 5, and only occasionally a number 8.

He likes to read with mama and papa, but has also started to 'read' to himself.

Papa has started him on the ice hockey too.

Luca has started to enjoy outings, like the aquarium.  Ooh - sharks!

At night before bed, Luca reads in his reading corner with papa, and sometimes they look at photos of people we love.

We've started him early on helping out in the kitchen.  We expect breakfast in bed for our birthdays by next year at least.

Little yellow bear gets a go in the swing!

Ah ma's shoes are very comfortable and make an awesome clicky sound on the floor.

OCD Luca.
